i'm glad nana came to visit me. on saturday we all went to the botanical gardens and then we went for soft-serve. well, THEY all ate soft-serve and i watched. THANKS!

well, you asked for it. guess you can't get enough of this baby magic.

this first one is a pic of me and my auntie lauren, just in from chicago. FYI, i am the first grandchild and there are people coming in from all over the U.S. to see me. but i am not nervous.


next, the "hand series" in which my adoring parents attempt to show off my five-finger style ("oh, he'll play the piano, no he'll be a surgeon. well at the very least he'll crush walnuts, no problem"):






my dad is WAY into me. what a wide-eyed softie, all kissy and "how do foreheads GET so soft?!" most people agree i have his ears and his lips, maybe his long gangly legs:


and here's me and mom. she's so freakin' pretty. i'm psyched since i seem to have her eyes. which is the hook and the line and the sinker, you know:


other factoids: my mouth is one inch wide, but my eyes are metric: 2cm. my nostrils are the size of BBs. my fingernails are the size of flaked red pepper. my toes the size of pine nuts.

and i am already getting bigger.

my first BLOG entry

hi, my name is sam!

i was born early in the morning on friday september 15. mom & dad think a BLOG is a good way to keep folks up to date on the cute baby things i do, like eating my fingers and yelling. AND there will be photos of me in all my endearing baby-ness.

but first, let me introduce you to my folks:
here are mom and dad. mom's belly is big! apparently, belly = sam = me. UNBELIEVABLE! there's a picture of dad getting ready to take mom to the hospital. he has a stopwatch and is timing mom's contractions, and running around the house like a madman. (these pics are kinda dark, sorry!)



fast forward to 4:45 am, and everything is cool. some pics of me "fresh out of the oven":



and the next day, hanging out with auntie meg and gramma and grampa. i can't wait to meet everyone!
